BIOGRAPHY
Michael Malone, a Cleveland, Ohio native and former Cincinnati resident is an internationally renowned saxophonist and composer whose over 35 years of professional experience puts him in high demand. Michael's resume includes five years touring the world with legendary jazz organist Jimmy Smith, as well as dates with Cindy Blackmon (former drummer for Lenny Kravitz), guitarist Mark Whitfield, and steel drummer Othello Molineaux (Weather Report). Michael also led his own group Just Released, which had multiple successful tours in Europe and Asia. He was a member and composer in the Austin based multiple award-winning group Blaze. Michael is currently living in Austin, TX and leads The Michael Malone Quintet and works extensively with jazz organ extraordinaire Red Young, as well as various other groups in the Austin area including vocalist Pamela Hart.
